My Lines
These are the lines & varieties I currently am working with:
Home of the Moons! We began Px with the original Russian Blue J-Line back in 2001 from our mentor and later co-breeder, Joann "Bella" Hodges of Bellaratta's Nest (BN). Currently it is the foundation of all of what we work with and within this line did the first 'Moon" show up a few years later, quickly falling in love with the variety and dedicating to it's development, ongoing continuation & standardization and further genetic testing & classification. It is our passion and the very heart of Px. Occasionally we will work with other lines but usually as an outcross into the J-Line and test breedings for the Moon. In 2021 we introduced a genetically mapped clean albino (Agouti hooded) outcross and since have seen many new varieties such as Blue Moon (purple-ish heather grey color), Hazy Moon (Blue Moon Agouti), faux black? (a rich dark minky/chocolatery color), Argentine? (bright orangey color) and more still popping up. Many of our rats (mostly the Moons) also have a reduced or nonexistent guard hairs similar to what is described as 'plush' or velvet.
